This book describes a pathway to get rid of your stress; not just manage it. It delves into the domains of your physical health, thinking errors and your spirit; and delineates how all three are connected and need tending.

This book is a unique read according to those who have read it.  As the author I have tried to take you on a personal journey through your own body, mind and spirit.  It is in each of these three domains of our existence that we experience stress.  Having dealt with numerous stressors in my life from both a personal and professional viewpoint; I believe I have developed a healthy philosphy that enables us to stress very little.  I just want to share it with others so that you can also be free.

When we are ill, we stress.  In the Body section of this book I discuss how our bodies work from a chemistry point of view.  When our bodies lack needed nutrients to grow and thrive any number of diseases or conditions can set in and cause you misery.  If you understand the essence of your food, how your body uses it, and what your body needs, you will stress less.  I have outlined this for you in the book.  How we physically feel can corrupt how we emotionally feel and act.

The Mind section of this book reviews thirty different thinking errors that we all possess from time to time.  Some we are not even aware of.  It is through elevating your awareness of your thinking errors that you can begin to act; rather than react to stressful situations.  This, too, will reduce your stress.

Lastly, the book delves into the true essence of your life energy, your spirit.  We often do not act from our spirit; but rather from our thinking.  This abondonnment of true self will also cause you stress.

Hopefully this book will help shift your perspective as you live your life.

Excerpt

CHAPTER ONE: ENERGY
Energy is the essence of human beings. We are energy captured in human form. We are not just bodies, but so much more. We are not a collection of thoughts, but so much more. We are greater than the mind and body phenomena. We each have a spirit that impacts all that we experience in this world. The mind, body and spirit are all forms of energy manifested as the human. Energy is not just the thread that weaves together the mind, body and spirit; it is the sole ingredient that creates the whole being. Humans have yet to truly embrace this paradigm. We are pure energy. People pay greater attention and give more time to most other aspects of their life (such as their finances, work, hobbies, family, outward appearance, social events, etc.), then they do their life giving energy. We typically think of our energy level when we have run out of energy. Then we know we are tired or hungry. It is not until we have severely depleted our energy reserves and begun to experience unpleasant consequences that we address this issue. The key to reducing stress requires constant energy monitoring and vigilance in tending to its needs. This requires that one thinks about their energy resources and makes conscious decisions about how to create and spend your energy. If you commit your time to your personal energy watch, you can significantly reduce your stress or totally eliminate it.
It is necessary to fully explore how energy impacts each of the three human domains, the body, the mind and the spirit. Until we understand this concept, we will stay in our struggle with stress. Most people can complete an array of tasks. However, if we understand and agree with the reason for the task, the completion of such comes with much less resistance. So will be the case toward eliminating your stress. If you fully understand the source of your stress, then and only then, will you be able to eliminate it. What you may think is your source of stress; most likely is not. As we move forward, we will begin to look at stress and what its relationship to energy is.
It is critical that you embrace the fact that our bodies, minds and spirits are not separated. They are totally entwined with one another. When one area is not functioning well; neither are the other two. If you take a rubber band and wrap it around three pegs that make an equilateral triangle, the stretch of the band between the pegs will be identical. Then, when you move one of the pegs either further away or closer to the others, the band is reconfigured and the balance of force is changed and will no longer be equal. When one factor is displaced, so are the others. So, too, is it with our beings. When our physical body is not well, it affects our minds and our spirits. So, too, if our minds are not working well, neither is our body or spirit working optimally. And lastly, when our spirits are broken our minds and bodies break down. You must maintain the condition of homeostasis, everything in balance to not stress. It is of critical importance that you understand this point.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Well, finally, a book that brings total understanding of how stress can directly lead to illness and depression. Ms. Sanders is quick to educate the reader as to what mineral deficiencies contribute to which diseases. Interesting read. Informative and life-changing. Bravo, Ms. Sanders! An excellent handbook for living a better life.

Differnt than any other book on stress
Love yourself more: stress less is different than any other book I've read on stress and I've read them all over the last few years.
I suffer with depression and some health issues.
I already take supplements but because I have allergies, I plan to try some of her recommendations of using less chemicals, especially spray cleaners, perfumes, etc.
I also plan to print out the foods that are bad for me and start eliminating some of those to see if I feel better. It's worth a try. It's the first time I've seen these particular food lists.
This is the first book I've read on stress that is uplifting and left me full of hope.
Thanks Jill Sanders - this book seems to be a work of love and not at all preachy.
