He watched a bit horrified as Bucky went right into the famous door under the arch of the Alamo at full canter. The scary part was he had to duck his head to do this which meant he was going to have to duck his head also. This was going to require some good timing because the last thing he wanted to do was get his head knocked off in front of Mary at the entrance to the Alamo. Mary flew ahead of Richey so they wouldn’t attempt the difficult task at the same time which would have been disastrous. Before he knew it they were at the entrance. Mary smoothly ducked her head and entered the fort. Richey decided not to risk it and just laid his head down on top of the horses which saved his head but hurt his nose as he met the horses head right when it was bouncing back from a decent lurch. Clearing the opening he raised his head (sore nose and all) and noticed that they were slowing down. Bucky motioned everyone to gather around so he could give a short synopsis of what had occurred one hundred and thirty years ago. Remembering that to stop the horse you needed to pull on the reins Richey lifted them up and gave a short shake before pulling back on them.
He never made it to the pulling back part.
The horse had taken Richey's well intentioned reins maneuver as an order to bolt to parts unknown and was much obliged to do just that. Seeing as how the only place where the horse could get up to gallop speed was the same hole they came in, he headed out towards that. After the incident
Mary said it happened so fast that all she heard from Richey was one word.
“SHIIIIITTTTT!”
She also said that he looked like a puppet on the back of a horse as his body was spazing this way and that. He managed to get his head back down before decapitation canyon as he and Silver Hi yoed their ass away.
Bucky was already heading on out as a posse of one to collect derelict horses and boys who do not belong on them at a high rate of speed.
Meanwhile… Richey found himself thinking how much he hadn’t done in life, just when he finally had a girlfriend too. He also noticed that as scary as the ride was, his body nevertheless let him know that his minimus maximus was beginning to hurt pretty good every time he came down on it in this… the ride that would not end. He looked ahead and was not particularly pleased with what he saw as his backside yelped yet another complaint. About fifty yards ahead was a clump of trees and the mighty steed under him thought it a nice place to lose his loser rider. Richey decided to close my eyes since he had no say in the outcome of this situation anyway and prepared for collision.
“WHOA THERE NELLIE, WHOA!”
