DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to all of those who couldn’t wait to be out on their own, only to find out later that the adult life that was as desired as a child wasn’t all it appeared to be from the outside looking in.
I’m even speaking to those of you who, like myself, grew up in church, and because it was literally forced up-on you to go by your parents or grandparents, couldn’t wait to get old enough to make your own decision not to go; and that’s exactly what you did: made your exit from the church and all of its tight, restricting, no real fun, gloomy rules. Can you remember how empowered you felt when you reached that point? If that wasn’t your story, it’s okay, there are plenty of us who felt that way and perhaps just weren’t truthful enough to speak the truth. We certainly didn’t do it then, and some wouldn’t dare utter that truth even now.
My prayer is that every leader, company president, CEO, parent, teacher, and child will glean something from the written words contained in this book, and allow the true characteristics of truth, honesty, and integrity to reign in your respective places of authority. Too often, we put on a sobering façade of everything being alright, portraying that nothing is wrong, or we live the adage, “I’m too blessed to be stressed,” when deep inside, we are hiding fear, hurt, disappointment, betrayal, grief, anger, and bitterness behind our titles and all the glory they supposedly bring. Believe it or not, all of those adverse, power packed emotions have to be released. Perhaps those emotions are even “leaking” out in places and on people that you aren’t even aware of, (i.e., your employees, spouse, children, congregants, students, etc.).
Don’t misunderstand, when you are leading and people are following, yes you want to put your game face on and respond in a positive manner. However, sometimes that sends a message to the person who is looking to you for answers and for help that something is wrong with them because they have an issue. Sometimes you may have falsely portrayed that you haven’t had trying, embarrassing, or humiliating situations in your life.
Today, people are looking for answers that will al-low them to face truth and be delivered from whatever situation binds them. You may be the person to help them get to where they need to be, but because you are not allowing your truth to come forward, you are not helping and you may even be hindering their release.
Much of what is written in these pages is my own uncovering, if you will. In order for me to go forward in this life and all that is destined for me to experience, I have to write these words, if for no other reason than to expose my truths. It has caused a release to come forth in my very soul and spirit, and I intend to live the rest of my days free! Free in my mind, free in my spirit, and certainly free in my soul (emotions)!
Nothing written is intended to hurt, harm, or damage anyone. For the most part, if you are inquisitive enough to discern whom I’m talking about, you’ll either have to use your imagination, ask God, or insert your own mental characters into the pictures that are painted in the words on these pages.
If truth be told, and I hope it is, you will find your-self, or someone you know within my life story. It won’t necessarily be me you’re looking at, but sometimes, your own image will be what you see in the mirror in your mind. Truly, the magnifying glass will appear.
My desire is that somehow, we can all come into the knowledge of truth. I know now more than ever that God desires truth in our inward parts, (i.e., our heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit). When that takes place, then we are whole, then we can assist others and usher them into the most beautiful way of living, which is by the roadmap that was designed for us by our Creator. Then and only then are we able to receive the fullness of the blessings of God as He has intended for our lives
A man of God once spoke into my life these words in reference to Kingdom Mentality: “You must release what you are holding onto in order to receive what I have for you!” In other words, exchange your current or carnal mentality for Kingdom Mentality! It will allow you to excel in Kingdom Works and to walk in Kingdom Authority!
My hope is that we will come clean and tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! God help us!
