The purpose of this book is to provide a more in-depth and detailed understanding and appreciation of the authentic Roman Catholic Faith than generally available in today’s media. This book is intended for those who take their Catholic Faith seriously and are intellectually engaged with its teachings. It is a compendium of articles that specifically address the foundational principles of the Catholic Faith. It will also serve to educate sincere seekers of the Meaning of Life who are often confused by the myriad offerings of today’s media in the marketplace of ideas, which frequently misrepresent the authentic Catholic Faith as being built on mere superstition. Contrary to that assertion, this book emphasizes that our Faith is solidly based on reason that, in a Court of Law, would convincingly provide “proof beyond a reasonable doubt” as to the truth of its doctrines. The logical underpinnings of its accumulated wisdom have been continually demonstrated over 2,000 years by great thinkers, such as St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, as well as the Fathers and Doctors of the Church, and thousands of the best minds ever living. This authentic Faith has been constantly promulgated to the world by the authorized teachers of the Faith that Christ established; namely, the Magisterium of the Church (currently Pope Benedict XVI and the Bishops in communion with him). Its truths have been preserved to the present day in the official Catechism of the Catholic Church. As a result, the Educated Catholic is a Forever Catholic.

       As is immediately evident, our world is absorbed by political and secular concerns that seek as an ultimate goal a human utopia on this earth, failing to recognize that this life is merely a way station to eternal life and supernatural happiness in the next. This warped perspective ignores the character of God and the nature of ultimate reality professed by the Roman Catholic Church. It gives scant recognition to the divine or spiritual life. Implicit are a lost vision of Christ, extraordinary naïveté, and a complete lack of logic. A true Catholic perspective comprehends that our current natural, physical and material existence is only a part of reality, and a minor part at that. The essence of reality lies in the supernatural realm. As our Roman Catholic Church constantly emphasizes, we are on earth to “know, love and serve God in this world so that we may be happy with Him forever in heaven.” We are human beings destined for eternal life.
