Excerpt
Kyle Lynch entered his North-East Minneapolis apartment he shared with Pauley Antonio and Jeff Steele. He dropped the book bag he had brought in and fell backward over the armrest and onto the dirty old sofa they had inherited with the place when some former renter graduated and went off to make his fortune. The living room was decorated in early American crap.
He looked around for the remote to the TV. Per usual, it was not in line of sight. Finally, he searched beneath him and found it in the small of his back. 'Look before you leap,' he thought as he pulled it out, felt for the on/off button and switched it on. Some rerun was on commercial break, and before the show returned, Kyle was fast asleep.
That wonderful dream came again. He was in a pub, somewhere, but he felt it was Ireland. At the end of the bar was a beautiful young woman, about his age, maybe a year or two older. The comely Colleen always sat on the same stool, and turned and smiled at him. Kyle would approach her and ask whether he could buy her a drink. She would smile and say to him, “Sit first,” He would and then she would say, “I am Molly, what's your name?” He would tell her. She would put her hand on his and say, “Kyle, we are meant to be together. You must come to Ireland and find me.”
He would gaze into her lime-green eyes, her dark fiery hair, a small turned up nose, and freckles that waited to be counted. From his limited view, she seemed to have a nice figure. But hey, it was a dream, why wouldn't she? “I am sorry, Molly, I can't afford to come over.”
She smiled. “You will come, and soon, and you will find me.”
The door slammed and Kyle was ripped out of his dream, he wiped the drool off his face that for some reason always seemed to occur when he napped in the afternoon. He glanced over at the door, and Pauley smiled. “Hi honey, I'm home.”
Kyle flashed him his middle finger and shouted out. “I am so glad FINALS ARE OVER!”
“Amen, brother,” his roomy said slumping into a large chair, also a left over from someone in the past. “You sure you can't scrape up the money to go to Ireland? It will be so bomb.”
“Sorry, I was able to save about half of what I need, but I want to pub crawl and do some wining and dinning over there.”
“Shit,” Pauley laughed, “you're still dreaming about that Molly chick.”
“Hey, I never said it would be her, hell, she's not real. But if she was, dude, she is hot. SSSSS.” He said it as he pretended to lick his index finger and put it on his own butt.
They both laughed.
Pauley glanced around the apartment, “Where the hell is Jeff?”
“Hanging at a bar in Stadium Village.” Referring to a college area that had been adjacent to the old football stadium, now long gone, but the name still stuck. “Probably at the Big Ten.” Referring to a bar there.
“Yeah, one more chance to add a notch to his belt before summer.” Pauley chided, then asked, “How was your final in Gold's class?”
“Pretty sure I passed. At least a B. Theoretical Physics, never shall we meet again.” He raised a non-existent glass to toast the end of what was without a doubt his hardest class.
Pauley laughed and said, “Cheers,” joining Kyle in the toast. “Is our Kyle sad?”
“Pretty much, I am. Damn, I wish I could go with you guys to Ireland.”
“You just want to chase some Celtic tail.”
“There is that. Besides, I am the only one with any Irish blood.” He grinned, thinking of his Molly. “Did Earl get his ticket?”
“Yeah. He ordered them last minute, per usual. Must be nice to be able to do things on a whim.”
Kyle nodded, “True, but he is a good egg for being rich and all that, plus he is fun.” And my best friend, Kyle thought.
“That he is,” Pauley thought for a moment. Pauley hopped up. “You want a beer?”

The Curse of Aednat
The Curse of Aednat is book filled with Patrick W. Fine's wonderful imagination; so much so, it cannot help but spur the need to read. The book opens with Kyle Lynch having dreams of a beautiful woman named Molly. Little does he know that Molly is a witch. “Come to me Kyle". After his friend is injured, Kyle takes his place on a trip to Ireland, where Molly is waiting. The book becomes as much a mystery as a fantasy and it's up to Kyle to discover why the witch is after him, and what he finds leaves franticly learning how to use his magic, for he is a witch as well. What the witch has in mind for him is appalling. As with most good mysteries, the true culprit in this novel is a surprise. Along the way, there are enough surprises and imaginative details thrown in to keep you reading. I highly recommend this novel.
