VENICE SHORES, NJ, May 17--A high school principal in this small New Jersey shore community of 9,000 was found dead early this morning at the foot of the neighborhood water tower. According to local officials, Dr. Richard Zaccaro, 40, was murdered. An eight-inch garden stake found at the scene is beleived to have been used to stab the victim in the abdomen.

Fun in NJ -- But Not For Principals
Hurricane Sandy took everything but my Kindle away, and what an awesome two nights it has been: I got to read "Garden Stake" and had a BLAST. And since my kids went through a local school system in New Jersey, I understood all the 'digs' and sarcasm. A fun read, which brings many New Jersey reputations to comic life. They call this a 'whodunit' because it's a murder mystery. But I call it a great way to spend a few quiet nights. There are six or seven suspects in the murders of several high school principals, and when I found out who did it, I was surprised--and amused. Why? Because one of my close friends has the same position as the murderer. But even if I didn't have a friend like that, I would have been pleased with the ending. I was pleased with the entire book, because it was so wild and wacky. And at just $1.99, it was the least expensive fun I had in a long, long time.
A Twist I Never Would Have Expected
This whodunit book kept me guessing all the way through, and even after it became obvious that I had picked the wrong suspect, the ending still came as a complete surprise. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a real page turner
The Mark of a Good Book
One mark of a good book is when you extend the end of it in your mind well into the future. I did that with "Garden Stake" because I actually grew to care about a few of the less-reprehensible characters. But after taking this literary ride, I made sure my own extended ending did not take place in New Jersey.
Prime-Time Crime Time (600 pages) is a collection of 35 fictional crime/detective stories and the work is author Jay Dubya's 43rd published hardcover/paperback book.
