TYPICAL CLIENT CHALLENGES
As a breakthrough mentor, coach and inspirational Law of Attraction speaker, I’ve discovered that a very primary client/participant complaint centers around controlling (or lack of controlling) one’s life or the enjoyment of feeling in control; steering it as it were. You might even experience some of these statements daily:
“My life’s out of control.”
“I’m so overwhelmed!”
“I’m not doing what I REALLY want to do, and I’m depressed about it.”
“I can’t ever seem to make everyone happy and even if I do then I’m miserable!”
“I can’t make a decision.”
“I need to hire you to get my life back on course/track!”
“I don’t know what to do, I’m stuck/at a crossroads!”
“When will my life get easier?”
“I’m numb all the time.”
“Our relationship just doesn’t work anymore.”
“I feel I’m just going through the motions, not really living, just existing.”
These are all symptoms of a deeper problem. The problem according to me:
We are very powerfully trained from birth to ignore our natural tendencies to take care of ourselves first and we unconsciously learn to live inauthentic lives.
We are conditioned (our parents meant well but they learned from their parents) to think that prioritizing our own needs and wants ABOVE all others’ needs is SELFISH (painted as very bad in general). All the religions of the world espouse some version of “You must sacrifice YOURSELF FOR OTHERS to be good!” dogma. Most people are selfish in non-productive ways. Selfishness has been equated with everything from being “evil” and “bad” as a kid, to not being a team player as an adult or in a company.
If you don’t take care of yourself first you are empty and have nothing to give anyone else!
Shame (guilt) is a powerful negative emotion (with its two brothers, insecurity and unworthiness - #21 on the emotional scale (ES) just slightly above the worst feeling emotions at #22: Fear, Despair, Depression, Grief, Powerlessness. These are just below #20: Jealousy. (We will cover the emotional scale later).
Think of aircraft emergency instructions: “If the aircraft cabin is losing pressure you are to put your own oxygen mask on first, then help others including your own children.”
Another example is to think of your life as a container. This container holds all of your wisdom, thoughts, ideas, soul, life experience and emotions.
People who have tried, failed and retried have HUGE containers and can handle anything and everything life throws at them (more joyfully and easily too!).
#1 REGRET OF THE DYING
The number one regret of dying people is that they didn’t live authentically!
Nurse Reveals the Top 5 Regrets People Make On Their Deathbed
By Bronnie Ware (who worked for years nursing the dying)
“1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people have not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made. It is very important to try and honor at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realize, until they no longer have it.”

Live It! Activity #1: Ask yourself this question: Will I regret not trying/doing this? If yes, always DO IT! As Tony Robbins says, “If I can’t, then I must!”
List the 5 things you must do NOW or you will regret:

One reason we don’t act authentically is that we are fearful of judgement, not only from others but also from ourselves. We were told by numerous people, in various places at many times that we weren’t (at some or all levels) good enough. So the ego (often as a small child) adapted and created what it thought was a “better” persona; a persona that would attract less anger or disapproval at a young age was a very “smart” adaptive process with which to protect us.
Unfortunately we grow up but don’t realize that the danger is gone and we still pretend to be something we are not. Your mind says, “You are not enough, don’t be your true self, you will be judged, laughed at and not liked, you are not good enough and don’t want to be abandoned”. The media most people consume support this insecurity with its focus on perfect models, successful people and keeping up with the Jones’.
All this in an ill-fated attempt at consuming the latest “lifestyle-improving” products/services. We carry deep-seated anxieties around wanting to be liked by everyone, even if the truth is we ourselves don’t like everyone.

Professional Reviews
A manual
“What I loved about Live-It! was that you provide the practical ways of dealing with our thoughts. It wasn’t one of these “you just have to do this” books. Rather you walk the reader step by step through the practical exercises of alternative action. I loved it.
Your book is a manual – something to keep at your bedside. It’s not a book that you just read once and that’s it. Read and re-read a million times … a perfect companion to listening to the Kehoe mp3′s.
I felt lucky to have been on your list of people to send this book to. It’s a winner and if you need a rave review then I’m happy to provide it.
This week I really noticed a shift towards joy. I felt good. My heart stopped aching because of the loss of my brother. I felt at peace. I know that this information in your book is seeping into my soul. It’s like silver polish and I’m getting shiny from the inside out. I’m glowing.
