Excerpt
I am finally putting fingers to keyboard to share the various hap-penings throughout my life that bring me to the present. I have been asked many times, “Do you have an exciting story of your music ca-reer like, you know, Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline that gave you the nerve to follow your musical dream?
I don’t think of it as being an exciting life, just a life like any oth-er, taking one day at a time, living life as it happens and enjoying each moment as is possible. Some were very good, some not so much. You may be the judge as you read about my childhood, my teen years and then on into adulthood.
There seemed to always be music surrounding me, either on the radio as we traveled from town to town or when we visited our grandparents in Arkansas. I recall my grandfather and his stepdaughters bringing out fiddles and guitars to sing some old county songs when we went to visit them.
My parents both loved to sing together and we kids would sing along, except my brother Marvin. He claimed he couldn’t “carry a tune in a bucket”. I’ve always believed we can all sing, we just don’t all sound the same.
Now, go ahead, find a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the words I am sharing with you.
