This IS NOT the story about the goose that laid the golden egg. Instead, it's a story that takes place in modern-day Boston.

Addy and The Golden Egg by Beatrix S. Tambunan is an illustrated children’s book. It is Easter time in Boston and the big Easter egg hunt has begun. Addy arrives late and is embarrassed because she is dressed in plain clothes, whereas the other children had dressed up in bright colors. Addy attends alone because her parents are working. After the whistle blows, all of the children file into the park, squealing with excitement as they collect their eggs. Hoping to avoid the crowd, Addy stays in sparse areas and searches behind the shed, where she finds several foil covered chocolate eggs and one strange golden egg. When the hunt is over, Addy runs straight home so she can count her eggs in the comfort of her own bedroom. Addy then attends church with her family and visits with her cousins before returning home and falling into bed, exhausted. As she is falling asleep, she notices that the golden egg is glowing. It then hatches a small bird, known as the Spirit of Spring, which brings hope to those who need it. When Addy tells the bird what she hopes for, a big surprise awaits her.

The fun and festivity of good old fashioned Easter egg hunts have been brought to life within the pages of Addy and The Golden Egg. Beatrix S. Tambunan teaches us that when a parent is working hard and cannot accompany their children to fun events, it is not because those things are boring or that they are not interested, but rather that they are doing their best to give their children what they need in life so that they do not go without.
