While Shyla Walters is recovering in the St Louis Stress Center her husband Jaycob lets the lease go on their apartment. Spooky, intense page turner
As a writer, I am pleased to see others who have stories to tell taking advantage of the opportunities to electronically publish. Not every offering is polished like great-grandma's silver, but a lot of what used to be kept in a drawer for the remainder of a person's life after being rejected by the Big 6 is now "out there" where we can all see it and enjoy it.
Such is the case with Whispering Coves. And let me confess right here that I am in the middle of a semi-final edit on a book project myself, but Ms. Armbruster's novel is such a page turner, I simply had to put my own work aside until I finished it.
I love the modern Gothic tone of this book, and I also love the frank treatment of a suicide attempt. Mostly, I just love that ghosts are critical characters... that there is diary involved which reveals major secrets... that there is a strong female protagonist who doesn't run screaming from the house when she realizes she's seen an apparition... and that there is sufficient mystery to keep one clicking that "next page" button again and again and again. Excellent find
Absolutely loved this book and could not put it down!! It was an amzing story line that captured your attention from the beginning and held it to the bittersweet ending:) I loved how the storyline was arranged and could feel myself going through the emotions with the characters especially Shyla. It was hard to believe this was Amy's first book and I definitely cannot wait to read her next one, Devon's Curse!!! I was really sad when I got to the end of Whispering Coves, not because I didn't like the ending but because I wouldn't have it to look forward to reading. Kuddos to Amy on such a great accomplishment!!! I would highly recommend to my friends and family!! Off to get Devon's Curse now:):)~ Charly Lewis
One Awesome Ghost Story
I have to say first I stumbled upon Amy's book by accident and I am glad I did. I enjoyed Whispering Coves very much. The ghostly elements and the love triangle are just a perfect mixture for one great read. Jack and Shyla are one couple I will be hoping to hear about again in a future book (hint hint) Lol.. I guarantee you won't be disappointed when you pick up or download your copy of this wonderful story, which is very well written and keeps you reading and wondering , you will NOT put it down until you learn all of the secrets of Whispering Coves ;) ~ Lisa Russo
