Paging_Changes (Stories...) is an anthology of poems from American Poet and Author Donato DiCristino.
The idea and subsequent publication of this compilation was originally meant exclusively for a friend of the Author's who had never read one of his books but was an active member and fan of his blog: Louder Than Bombs: A DonaTo Divided. Paging_Changes is an extremely popular theme in Donato's books and he has said that with the publication of a "best of" it was time to start following his own advice by entering a new phase of his writing. Donato selected thirteen pieces from each of his four books: The Threads of Life (2003), Saving The Liar (Colors Reflected) (2006), Louder Than Bombs (Reinventing Progress) (2008) & The Dragon's Tongue (2011). The twist is that unless you had them memorized they are completely unrecognizable in their new story. This is definitely not your typical re-imagining. Enjoy.

There is a fully functional family of chaos residing within a deep and
damaged hole in my soul. I call this family “confusion’s carnival”. They live and

defensiveness that is always primed and ready for war. The battles are
debates I create to question my psychic eye—an endless parade that circles
the carnival’s matriarch. Her name is Depression and her origin has never
been revealed. I often wonder if her poisonous essence began the invasion at
the starting point of my creation.
My wondering seems to be never-ending—like a manic mixture
consisting of Ferris wheels, bumper cars, gravitrons and ancient wooden roller
coasters thrown together like a collage of catastrophe and you, my daringly
curious reader will finally begin to comprehend my inner nation—but only the
surface. This carnival of chaos is my subconscious and, at times, I believe it to
be somewhat comforting and always constant.
During her reign, Mother Depression has spawned twelve offspring.
These scarred sons and drowning daughters are the grisly gatekeepers who
surround my heart with iron-clad fists of fury—hoping to protect the
remaining pieces that are still longing and needing to be mended so that one
day I can completely cradle the unpredictable capacity I believe to be the
family of truth and lov
