Absolutely Perfect!
"Too many books these days seem to be written in texting short-hand or try to move the action along too fast. That certainly can't be said for this book. Rosalind Scarlett takes the time to build the back story of Aislinn with a descriptive writing style that rivals my favourites, Anne Rice and Edgar Alan Poe, among others. Her use of the English language and knowledge of Celtic legend and folklore is refreshing and she uses it to paint a complete character portrait of Aislinn. There were times where I could feel the frustrations of Aislinn emanating from the page, with her thoughts and feelings vividly portrayed especially in certain scenes that I won't mention for fear of spoiling the story.

Along the way there is intrigue as Aislinn seems to be special somehow and it's a wonderful hook that keeps the reader glued to the pages. When the action picks up and Aislinn's life is turned upside down, it's a thrilling erotic ride that doesn't let up until the book finishes. The author's use of language never lets up during the action and each scene is described to perfection with pain, torment, and eroticism oozing from each page.

In all, I highly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the series to continue!

What a great read!
"Cailín" is a beautifully written book. The descriptions of the different locations plunge the reader right into the scene, and the emotional detail smoothly merge the main character, Aislinn, with the reader.

"Cailín" is a coming of age tale which follows a naďve, yet strong willed, young girl who wants nothing to do with the social norms of her time (until she discovers her soul mate) into a vampire instinct driven erotic filled adult life she would neither have dreamed of, nor wanted.

"Cailín" also is a wonderful romance story with such interpersonal detail it allows the reader to truly understand the level of love between the two. The erotic scenes take a refreshing stance in that there is a slow build up and the vocabulary used is succulent and savoring.

The author writes a roller coaster of a story which leaves one wanting more! I gave "Cailín" an easy 5 stars, and now I am now waiting for the next book with excitement!

Wonderful first book
"Cailin" had me from the start. The author is a talented writer - I'm amazed at how she was able to keep the Irish "accent" going throughout the whole book.
That aside, her descriptions are lush and her characters are emotive and real. The action moves along at an even pace then builds up to an erotic frenzy that has to be read to be believed.

I happily give this book five stars and am already waiting with anticipation for the next book!
