Coming Out of the Closet & Breaking the Chains ( Poetic Views from the other side of a special education classroom) is a collection of poems touching on everything that has touched Ms. Dresser's life, from her experiences and impressions as a young person having to go through the special education system in our country's school system to child and spousal abuse. It touches on a wide range of subjects in life. But at the heart of this huge collection of poetry is a series of poems that bear the title of the book "The Closet." It is here that she gives voice  to not only her struggles in school, but to the thousands of young people in school today who struggle in a school system that can't adequately meet  their special needs, but also sometimes denies them of basic human rights.
