THE LIBRARIAN’S SECRET SCANDAL (4) by Jennifer Morey: The Coltons return, and soon life is confused and painful. Lily Masterson is leaving Montana State prison, where she attended a parole hearing for the man who raped her years earlier, when her car crashes into that of Honey Creek Sheriff Wes Colton. Wes was off to visit his brother Damien, a wrongly accused murderer, soon to be released. The crash brings them together, but their path to love isn’t easy. Lily was a wild child and the town hasn’t forgotten or forgiven in the 15 years she’s been gone, and now her 14-year-old daughter is suffering for it. While Wes searches for the real murderer, Lily’s rapist is released, placing her in real danger. The story starts with strong emotion and the action is fast throughout. Lily and Wes’ relationship seems to develop a bit too fast under the circumstances, but the problems faced by Lily’s daughter are especially poignant. This is a heartwarming book.
