Sasha Barton and her talking British shorthair, Sebastian, inherit Grams' lovely old home in the quaint and quirky town of Mulberry. There's more than lots of rooms and antique furniture in Grams' old house. It seems that Ms. Maxine's gentleman friend Alfred is still hanging around in spirit. Before the boxes are even unpacked, Henry DuPont, the curmudgeon neighbor across the street turns up dead and Sasha is suspect number one.
In exposing the truth, a Pickle goes missing, a supermodel comes to town, the dead are raised and things get dangerous for the duo sleuths. While anyone who knew DuPont would be at the top of the Henry Hit List, between menu selections, Sebastian has everyone pegged as the murderer.

Home Sweet Mulberry by Robin G. Austin is a lighthearted, humorous, cozy mystery that will make you smile.
The story is told from Sebastian's point of view. He is a cat and the beloved pet of Sasha Barton. Both Sasha and he live in Sasha's grandmother's home after Sasha's grandmother has passed away. The hi-jinx starts immediately as Sasha is unpacking her moving boxes on the very first day in their new home. During this time, a crotchety old man (Henry Dupont) who lives across the street dies a suspicious death and Sebastian thinks he knows who the killer is. Actually Sebastian thinks everyone is a suspect and does not hesitate to tell Sasha what he thinks.
Along with a talking cat (that only Sasha can hear), the ghost of Alfred (Gram's departed boyfriend)lives in Gram's house as well, adding to the complex cast of characters in this funny tale. By the end of the story, secrets are revealed, another person goes missing and both Sasha and Sebastian are placed in a bit of danger.
I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy mystery. It was well-written and flowed quite nicely. The characters were real and very funny. The author did a great job with weaving Sebastian's cat behaviors into the story, with many laugh out loud moments along the way.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a good, clean, funny mystery.

This was a great read. Sebastian is wonderful & witty, Sasha is endearing and very inquisitive. Together they make a great mystery solving team. Through in a ghost who resides in their attic & you have a wonderfully entertaining trio. I recommend that everyone read this book and all the books in the series...

Sasha Barton, an artist, inherits her grandmother's house in Mulberry and decides to live there. Along with the house she also inherits Alfred, the ghost of her Gram' s boyfriend. She has a cat named Sebastian, who can speak (but only to her... and Alfred). The neighbors are all elderly and cranky, or not what they seem, and Sasha gets into all sorts of trouble trying to befriend them.
The murders and hilarious hijinks packed into this story will make you groan or laugh out loud. Sasha is unbelievably naive and often says way too much to the wrong people. She can be truly exasperating! Sebastian, the cat, is my favorite character. His feline commentary and point of view gets right to the heart of the matter. He thinks everyone "did it." Alfred loves to converse with Sebastian and the two of them put their heads together to sort out the clues. Sebastian is also urging Alfred to learn to use his energy to work the can opener.
Following several murders, means, motive, and opportunity all point to out-of-work actresses Bootsie Kittredge and Babs Harrison. Their claims of righteousness and lack of guilt seem fabricated, thanks to a cheerfull announcement made to the patrons
