When Do You Cross the Line
Sometimes, you see an author whose first work is fantastic and you can hardly wait for the next. That's why I enjoyed LA Greyson's "Oxygen Wasters" so much. It is so good, I can hardly wait for his next yarn.

What is an "Oxygen Waster?" It turns out, according to Greyson, an "Oxygen Waster" is a person with no redeeming qualities at all. They range from Ponzi-scheming investment specialist who delights in bilking millions from unsuspecting retirees; taking his two years at a "country club" prison, and then resuming his rapacious ways; or the "in-over-her-head" entrepreneur, whose products not only are shoddy, but her treatment of workers is worse.

Greyson's "Oxygen Wasters" are just the very tip of the iceberg and a hidden cabal of vigilante/protectors has decided to right the wrongs in a very fatal manner. The question here is when do you cross the line from revenge to outright murder? It is a moral question that is close to the surface of "The Oxygen Wasters."

The key to Greyson's work is that his characters are fully formed from the moment you pick up the work. He has either had some very good editing help or has worked and reworked his book until it resonates so that each person, whether it is the financier we meet on the first page, is real, or the poor victims of a Dubai massacre.

That's what make this book such an exciting first work. It's a work with a twist -- no peeking here -- that will leave you waiting for his next book because you know there will be another one.

In the past, we have found novelists with one novel in them and that's their glory point; they spend years living on that novel, as their subsequent works never reach the mark they have set. I have a feeling, though, that this won't be the case with Greyson. We'll be reading more good work from him in the future.

Survival/Revenge A Thin Line Separates Them
There is a saying that we are only 7 people away from knowing everyone else on the planet and this book shows us how true that really is. It takes people from four continents and shows how one event causes their worlds to collide.

Mr. L.A. Greyson takes us on a world tour with a well thought out story, fully realized characters and a premise that leaves you scratching your head in amazement. His descriptive style immerses you in each location, the writing is so vivid that you feel you have actually been there.

The story gives you pause because you are asked to think, to decide if you are a part of the solution or part of the problem. If you do not come away feeling vaguely disturbed then you missed the point. Read it and be amazed!

Not enough stars!
Debut suspense thriller novel by L A Greyson, The Oxygen Wasters is an exciting, fast moving novel set nowhere and everywhere. It doesn't feel like a debut novel, it feels like the produce of a seasoned author and I thoroughly enjoyed this page turning story that I literally couldn't put down.

Eden Franks has a chance drink with a childhood drink that drags him on an elimination quest from hills of San Francisco to the heat of Dubai to the turmoil of Sri Lanka, Thailand and beyond. The author develops the characters with such precision you can virtually see them all in their situations. I loved Ari with her strength, determination and fighting spirit that saved her in the end and bought her back to love.

The audience will enjoy the detail; the tropical forests that you can almost smell, the desert dust you can taste and the snowflakes you can see. Its an attack on the senses. Fact is thinly disguised as fiction especially for those who have lived the expat lifestyle. As an expat and while this is fiction, the writer makes the experiences of the characters so real and I felt genuine empathy for the characters.

The real theme here is the human experience. Men who look for a better life are disappointed, fathers defend their families, love, friendship, murder, cruelty - This story has it all. If you like Robert Ludlam or Dan Brown this is a must read. If not, give it a go. When you read a debut novel you never know if its full of stuttering, no clear plot and underdeveloped storylines. The Oxygen Wasters has none of that. Can I be the first to say this would make a fantastic screenplay!
