Wreaking of havoc, mayhem and breath
Out comes the disciples of carnage and death
The minions who make the brimstone burn
Put your intestines on a crane as they slowly begin to turn
Defy all that’s holy, for they are the seekers
Do the bidding for they are the devil’s speakers
They carry a burden and drag a heavy boulder
Around hot surroundings, their insides are colder
Their faces disfigured, charred and melted
From all the pain they have ever dealt with
A lonesome look about them perhaps sadness
This being for who they work for derived of complete madness
Their job is never done and it never will be
Working off the sins for all eternity

I love poetry, the darker the better. Two of my all time favourite writers are phenomenal poets: Edgar Allan Poe and Charles Baudelaire. So it was with certain expectations that I began reading this anthology.
What I Liked: The structure and divisions. The chapter breaks work well to group the ideas within the poems and also afford the reader a sometimes much needed break between all the gruesomeness. The poems certainly are quite brutal, telling individual tales while contributing to the recurrent theme of death and horror.
What I Didn’t Like: I’m not the biggest fan of rhyming poetry. I found some of the rhyming lines overly contrived to the point where the rhyme became more important than the imagery or story being told. Sometimes this undermined the impact of the poem.
My Rating: This collection is certainly about blood, death and gore: definitive horror. I would’ve preferred more subtle and less explicit writing. There are a few gems in this collection though and those alone make this worth the read.

I'm not usually a big reader of poetry, but the concept of horror poetry intrigued me. This is a book of poems that ranged from dark and gruesome to evil and creepy with the occasional bit of humor thrown in. The very first poem "Buried Alive" and "Zombies" in chapt 3 were my favorite two poems but I enjoyed nearly all of them in the collection. These are definitely unique and not for the feint of heart as some are a bit gory. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that enjoys the horror genre. This is a collection that I will definitely re-read!

I enjoyed all the poems.but I have this to say I do have a favorite poem and I do have a favorite section of poems I loved the creatures and the Dorian grey poem are the ones that spoke to me very loudly very good job on poems wish you much success and a book I would recommend to others.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
