Mara Odeon is a mind-bending descent into madness, fringe science, conspiracy, conspiracy within conspiracy, spiritual agony, true love and the ultimate, disconcerting revelation of what humanity is really all about.

    Poor Harry Wheaton.
Unseen forces have endowed him with powers beyond his comprehension, and he is quickly going irretrievably insane.
Everybody wants a pice of Harry. He is relentlessly pursued in his dreams by the spectral crew of the ghost ship, Mara Odeon. The Pentecostal evangelist, Dewey Thurston, wants Harry’s connection to God. The UFO hunters of the Outland Coalition want to understand why he is receiving an extraterrestrial transmission. The Advanced Technical Underwiting office of the U.S. Navy, the ATU, wants the phasionic technology which is behind the extraterrestrial transmission. But none of them could ever imagine what they would actually find in Harry Wheaton.
Mara Odeon is a mind-bending descent into madness, fringe science, conspiracy, conspiracy within conspiracy, spiritual agony, true love and the ultimate, disconcerting revelation of what humanity is really all about.

Excerpt

Lea Strask loved her life. Actually, she loved her work and her work was her life. It was special work, important work and it made her feel special and important. But more than that, it was exciting, it was dangerous and it was a helluva lot of fun. Even when it got dirty. Maybe even especially then.
Too bad it didn’t pay for shit.
Most of the time, she worked as a taxi driver in East Orange, New Jersey. That was her real-life day job - the one that paid the bills and bought her equipment. She saw it as her cover. It was something she could do to keep body and soul together, but then drop on a moment’s notice. Nobody thought too much of it if she disappeared for weeks or months at a time. She needed that kind of freedom and flexibility to do her real work.
Lea was a field team leader for the Outland Coalition. She even had a faded, crumpled ID card somewhere, and that made it official. Or at least it made it something, though she wasn’t sure what. She didn’t care about that part of it anyway. What she liked was getting into places she wasn’t supposed to be, doing things she wasn’t supposed to do, and learning things that she wasn’t supposed to know.
The Outland Coalition was kind of a mystery in itself, though she had worked for them for the last several years. It had no permanent address, no building, no facility - not even a web site. A cell phone with the OC logo on it was all there was. When there was a job to do, she would get a call on the phone to go to some location. Generally, there would be some kind of briefing, though often it was just a set of instructions written on a scrap of paper about what the job entailed and details about how she would be paid. If she decided to take the job (which she always did), her acceptance of funds constituted her agreement to do the job. How she did the job was totally up to her.
The jobs usually involved some sort of infiltration, location and duplication of a specific document, and delivery of the document copy to another operative. So she was basically a petty thief and trespasser, but there was more to it than that.
As it was explained to her when they’d recruited her, the Outland Coalition was a super-secret organization of super-smart people who were working super hard to penetrate the government conspiracy to conceal the existence of extra-terrestrials and UFOs.
