A series of grisly child sacrificial murders have occurred in Alabama. Now, former Mobile detective Joe Robinson's 6 year old daughter has been taken and appears to be the next victim of a coven of witches sacrificing children in hopes of resurrecting an ancient witch. Robinson has 3 weeks until the next full moon to find the coven and save his child. He enlists the aid of a man facing execution for killing a member of the coven months before in an attempt to find the coven's whereabouts. The man, whose son was killed by the coven years before agrees to help Robinson and, with the aid of Robinson's friends and allies a three week search to find them begins.
Each time it looks as if Robinson may finally catch a break another obstruction blocks his path. As Halloween night, and the full moon approach, it appears that he has lost his child and the coven has escaped. But one final opportunity presents itself and Robinson and his friends race through endless darkness to face a terror never thought to exists in modern times. Can he save his child and defeat the witch and her coven in time?

Lee, Wow, what a read. Not normally for me, but on this occasion I made an effort to read something a million miles away from my Genre. Superb writing I have to say. So much thought gone into this book its unreal. You have worked magic with your characters here and they are to be the key to the success of this book. There is no two ways about it. With the pace and flow and a great narrative like this, I can only see good times ahead. So so well done.

What a remarkable tale. I was blown away from the first sentence to the very last. I’ve read so many stories of witches and witchcraft, both fictional and non-fiction, but nothing has prepared me for this. Scary beyond my words is all I can say.
The incredible manner in which you managed to present the Salem witch trials of 1692 with both real and fictional characters is just plain difficult for me to put into words (I’m a reader, not a writer). I found myself pulling for the original witch, Rithmae, during this time. And then to bring the significance of that event into modern times…well.
As another commenter stated, you have created a story within a story which kept me turning the pages night after night long after my bedtime. I can make you one promise; I’ll be the first to buy this book once it hits the stores.
The scene building and character descriptions were great; I honestly pictured each of them in my mind. But personally, I’m a dialogue person first and the dialogue was not only original but left me feeling that it was “true to life” so to say and not just made up, it sounded like I expect people to sound when they are talking to each other. Many times I thought I was the proverbial “fly on the wall” in the jail cell with Robinson and Straker as they talked about the coven. The other characters who assisted Robinson were also very likeable and yet, very different but very real. Shoebox Bill Roberts may have been my favorite.
I know a great deal about “the craft” and when you made reference to certain uses of objects, symbolisms, ceremonies and beliefs involving witchcraft I was amazed at the accuracy of those facts (with the exception of the murder of the children), you were spot on.
The ending was spectacular and left me longing for a sequel. If you have written a sequel please, please let me know how to get hold of it. As to this book, I can’t imagine why it is not in stores already. I also believe it would make a fantastic movie as well. I can see Harrison Ford as Joe Robinson and Bruce Willis playing Bill Straker and Robert De Niro playing Shoebox.
I cannot imagine what Harpercollins is waiting on.
