Why would anyone want to murder two respectable sisters? Jacob and Sarah have to find out -- quickly.

Three sisters in a quiet Cotswold town, each one hiding a secret. Three outwardly unconnected deaths. And one person silently manipulating events, as each death brings them a step closer to a potential fortune. It isn't until clock repairer Jacob Silver and his wife Sarah are drawn into the police investigation that the link between the three deaths becomes clear -- and that discovery could put one of them in danger of becoming the next victim. Sins of the Sisters is the tenth book in the Silver and Simm Victorian Mysteries series.

Excerpt

They reached the house and Jacob unlocked the door. In the kitchen, Mrs Tucker was rocking Joshua on her ample lap, crooning a lullaby, and looked up as they came in. Jacob could have sworn she blushed when she realized they had heard her singing, sentimentality not being one of her noticeable characteristics.
“Good as gold, he was,” she reported. “He woke up once or twice, but I just rocked him and he dropped off again. Makes me right broody, it does, holdin’ a baby again.”
Jacob sincerely hoped she wouldn’t follow through on that impulse, considering she already had her hands full with her children and her bone-idle husband, not to mention helping Sarah with the housework. He estimated Mrs Tucker was probably around forty years of age, but that didn’t necessarily rule out a late addition to the family.
“I should think six would be enough,” Sarah said.
“Oh, there’s always room for one more. That’s what Mattie says, though it’s not him havin’ ’em. He might feel different if it were. Did you get your business done?”
“Yes, we did,” Jacob said, and to forestall any further discussion, added, “Why don’t you make us all a cup of tea, Sarah?”
“I’ll make it,” Mrs Tucker said. She got to her feet and handed Joshua to Sarah, giving his chin a tickle. “He’s lovely, aren’t you, Joshua?”
She waddled off to the scullery to fill the kettle and Jacob looked down at the baby in Sarah’s arms. For a moment, a pair of small sky-blue eyes opened and looked back at him. Sarah had been correct about Joshua inheriting his father’s dark hair, but he had her blue eyes, which Jacob thought was only fair.
Mrs Tucker returned with the kettle and put it on the hob.
“Oh, I almost forgot,” she said. “You had a caller, Sarah, whilst you was out.”
“I did? Who?”
Jacob imagined it would have been one of the numerous young women Sarah was friends with, who might take advantage of running an errand to slip down Corn Street and chat for a few minutes.
“Your Aunt Mary, she said she was.”
Sarah’s eyebrows went up. “My Aunt Mary?”
Jacob was as puzzled as she was, since Sarah had never mentioned any relatives at all outside of her immediate family. Obviously no one had stepped forward to offer Anne Porter any help, or Sarah either, after Anne’s death, so he assumed either there weren’t any aunts, uncles, grandparents or cousins, or if there were, they had washed their hands of the less well-behaved family members.
“Do you have an Aunt Mary?” he asked her.
