Deadly Revenge by C.A. Brennan is a story of witchcraft and murder, the ultimate story of revenge. Sarah has finally escaped the clutches of her father, after losing her mother in a horrific accident. She receives a letter from her aunts, who have been looking for her for a long time, and she decides to visit them. It is there that she learns she is a witch and, under the tutelage of her aunts Rebecca and Brigit, she begins to learn her new skills. Desperate to see her mother again, she does a spell that she is not meant to do - mirror magic. Believing it to have failed she goes to sleep, only for her mother's spirit to enter her body and imprison Sarah in the mirror. Madeline has come back for a reason - to wreak revenge on those she believes have wronged her and she goes on a bloody supernatural rampage. Along the way, secrets are learned, secrets that can change lives. Does Madeline complete her goal or does someone stop her before it is too late?

Deadly Revenge is a well-written book and a good read, especially if you want something a little bit different. There are one or two twists and turns along the way that bring the story into focus a little more. The characters and the storyline were obviously well researched although, I must admit, I found that it ended a bit too suddenly. That makes me wonder if there is perhaps a sequel?
