Being homeless isn’t Dumdie Swartz’s biggest problem, she’s seen ghosts all her life. Now she must help the ghost haunting her new room at a private homeless shelter find her lost will – if Dumdie’s to save the shelter and herself.
Over the years, Dumdie Swartz has developed many weird habits to hide the fact she sees ghosts. When her boss fired her because he thought her trances were mini-strokes, Dumdie becomes homeless, just another old lady living in her car.
Being homeless isn’t Dumdie’s biggest problem. She discovers the ghost of the previous owner haunts her room at a private shelter, a ghost with a problem of her own. Her will is lost, and the shelter’s existence is threatened. Dumdie must conquer her fear of upsetting people if she's to find the will and save the shelter.

This very short novel rushes speed ahead from the first paragraph. I was impressed that a clear characters were able to be developed in just 22 pages, and have a plot that was interesting from beginning to end. You have to feel sorry for Dumdie, as it is not her fault that she see's spirits-this seeing of spirits is what landed her in the homeless shelter {old mansion-refurbished} to begin with. While some know of her abilities, nobody was prepared for a spirit to contact her at this location. This was supposed to be the beginning of her road back from losing everything. When the shelter is in danger of closing its doors is where all the puzzle pieces start to fall into place. Who is the spirit? What is the spirit searching for by reaching out to Dumdie? This is one book that you should take the time to read to find out the outcome. Brilliant use of characters, descriptions, scenes, and fast paced plot.

"The Ghost in the Closet" is a paranormal novel involving an interesting character named Dumdie Swartz, who has the ability to see ghosts. I find it interesting that the author chose to set the location of the story at a homeless shelter, and that Dumdie is afraid of ghosts. I like the development of her character as she learns how to overcome her fears and eliminate the ghost that threatens her safe haven at the homeless shelter.

I liked this book. I found the plot to be quite good.
The characters were well created. There was a nice amount of extra detail (such as how Dumdie ended up with her name) that gave valuable insight to the background of the characters.
The ghost details fit in well- such as one lowering the temperature in a room and little details like this one really added to the plot and gave it depth.
This isn’t your typical ghost tale. It is a tale of a woman who (fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) has a special gift of being able to see and talk with ghosts.
To add to the tale, Dumdie who has been ridiculed and shunned throughout her life, finds herself living in a homeless shelter.
Interesting enough, this turn of events may be an opportunity to prove herself and not a defeat.
The author mixes together a ghostly tale, a bit of drama and a trail of clues to make a mystery.
