Begin your own spiritual journey using the tools described in "Telling Secrets" by Peg Hubbard. This is an easy to follow self-help guide to discovering your secret to the life you truly deserve!
This is a workbook that can accompany the novel, "Telling Secrets", by Peg Hubbard which tells a story that can also teach. The idea for this workbook came from inquiries from readers who wanted to know more about the main character, Beth, and her journey to a better life. This is a coaching/mentoring tool using “Telling Secrets” as the launch pad for helping others do what the main character did -- look within at herself, find out what her values are, her talents, and her dreams, and then begin to manifest that life for herself.
This workbook is interactive and it's based on how the author, Peg Hubbard mentors her clients, and teaches workshops. She gives some insights to her own personal story, and how it inspired things in the book. She expounds on the themes around which she structured the novel, to help you search out the themes in your present life. Then she gives you ways to look at which themes you want to keep, which ones need a little change, and which ones are holding you back.
You are the main character of this workbook. When you are done, you will have worked your way around the “Sacred Wheel” that Beth studies and explores in "Telling Secrets", and you will have your own story written down in a way that can help you to move forward. When I talk to folks about my book, I’m often asked if I explained somewhere that it was a “teaching novel.” The answer is no; when I sent it off to the publisher, there was no such thing as a “teaching novel”, and it never occurred to me. I’m also asked why Grace asks Beth to do things like journal, read the same book several times, and so on. And I explain that in fact, that was the process I used at some points during my own spiritual healing and journey, and it helped me so much I wanted to pass it on.
This morning, as I crawled out of bed to spend another day trying to solve this dilemma, I had an idea. Write a guidebook, based on what I was trying to teach in my novel!
I have also been asked by several book clubs if I had any tips for them in reading my book as one of their selections. First of all, that was very flattering, and I was thrilled by the prospect that book clubs were using this book! And I realized that it would enhance the reading experience if there was such a guide.
My first thought was to prepare a short e-book as a book club guide. I could emphasize the themes I wanted to share in the book, and get folks talking. But as I spoke with a friend today about my vision for how I wanted people to appreciate my novels, the idea took shape – create not just a guidebook, but a workbook – a coaching/mentoring tool using “Telling Secrets” as the launch pad for helping others do what the main character did. Beth took the time to look within at herself, find out what her values are, her talents, and her dreams, and then begin to manifest that life for herself.
So here it is! The “Telling Secrets Workbook – a Guide to Finding Your Secret to the Life You Truly Deserve.” It still feels like a tall order, but it’s based on what I would do if you and I were to work together as coach and client.
In this workbook, I’ll give you some insights along the way to my own personal story, and how it inspired things in the book. I’ll expound on the themes around which I structured the story, and help you to search out the themes in your present life. Then we’ll look at which themes you want to keep, which ones need a little change, and which ones are holding you back.
You are the main character of this workbook. When you are done, you will have worked your way around the “Medicine Wheel” that Grace has Beth study and explore, and you will have your own story written down in a way that can help you to move forward. Let’s get started!
