If you are young and just starting out, maybe working only your first or second job, you don’t need me to tell you what a horrible experience it is. Ah, but you expect it to be, don’t you? After all, you’re just beginning; you’re paying your dues. And so you slog your way through yet another greasy shift at McDonald’s or spend eight or ten sun-stroked hours spreading hot, sticky tar on some rich dude’s roof, knowing that better days, and better jobs, lie ahead.
Older folks know better, though. Yes, we readily agree with you, Kids, that your first and second jobs are universally awful. What we may or may not tell you, however, is that all of your jobs are going to suck. Yes, every single one of them. Sorry to break it to you like this.
Over the years I’ve often heard some guy or girl complain about their job, and how much they hate it. I always set them straight: Listen, why do you think they have to give you money to get you to drag your sorry ass in here every day? If it was fun you’d have to pay to get in. Like Disneyland.
So sit back, relax (make sure you punch out first!) and enjoy the low and even lower points on the magical misery tour that I laughingly refer to as my career. And who knows? After you read it your own job might not seem so bad after all. But I doubt it.

What a Great Find! Five Stars!
I downloaded this book on a whim, and wasn't expecting much - but I was pleasantly surprised! The author takes us on a journey through his many many (many) different careers, dead-end jobs, and failed business ventures with a fresh and funny writing style that made me laugh out loud on more than a few occasions.
The book is presented in a series of short stories, or articles, that cover a single topic - and each little vignette is delightfully presented and each leaves its mark in an unforgettable way.
