Wow, second book in the series comes out swinging and never stops. A trip around the world and in time links everything together for a non-stop rush. While The Potential built the character from the ground up, Mask of Deceit runs him full speed into the business, on purpose. Some real clearly unique scenes and ideas at work here, very impressive for a follow up to a strong debut. This book stands out and I read a lot of books!
Riveting and memorable
I was privileged get a look at the manuscript for this outstanding book before it was published and am thrilled that it's finally available to the general public. You see, all too many thriller writers attempt to pull plots from the headlines yet their novels fall apart, at least in the eyes of informed readers like myself (I've published over a dozen bestselling books on martial arts, violence, self-defense, countervailing force, and related topics), because they fail to do their homework and truly understand the subject matter. Not so here. Davies’ background in security consulting shines throughout his work. Convincing characters, compelling action, taut pacing, and tremendous writing make this book a captivatingly and refreshingly realistic read. It’s riveting and memorable. And very highly recommended!
