Inspired By Beau
Jason woke up, and upon hearing some barking out back, looked out of his bedroom window. He got dressed, got into his wheelchair and went into the family room where his parents were drinking coffee and relaxing. Immediately upon entering the room, Jason asked what that dog was doing in the back yard. His parents told him that they adopted Beau, and that they were hoping that Jason would spend some time getting to know the dog, who could keep him company. Jason’s retort was “Oh great! That’s just what I need, a crippled dog!” Jason’s dad said, “If you had one third of the positive attitude this dog has, you would be a happy man! Beau has not let his disability stop him from enjoying life, and perhaps you should try to learn from him.” Jason just scoffed, and returned to his lonely world, the bedroom.
