Matt walked the jungle track looking for some sign that the medical researcher might have left. To the side he saw the sun flash off of something lying in the dirt. As he bent down he could see it was the broken lens of a pair of eye glasses.
As he was kneeling down studying the ground surrounding shattered lens, he heard the roar of a motorcycle and then the shots came. He looked up and thirty meters down the track two men riding together were bearing down on him. The one on back was carrying an AK 47 and firing away.
