I immediately noticed you have a distinctive writing style. It reminds me of the Perry Mason TV series writing, but you add an enticing story element creating this official report style verbiage that sounds very formal as if over my shoulder you are reading me legal transcripts and reports while at the same time the story itself is playing out before my eyes.
At first, I was unsure about how I felt about the flow, but after a few chapters, that is when I developed the feeling of someone standing behind me reading. Very Dick Tracy like. It definitely sets you aside as a unique writer.

I would recommend your books if they are just as good, including cover, story and the same writing style. This series would be one that I would heavily back.

Escape from Freedom is not your typical mystery-suspense novel. It takes the warped world of fanatical religion and mixes in murder, theft, arson, mental illness, gender inequalities, and those in-laws you just never could learn to like. Redmond Herring’s unique narrative voice is reminiscent of old Perry Mason episodes, reading as if coming from court documents and other legal files while the actual story plays out before your eyes. The characters are remarkably developed and you quickly build a personal bond to them, whether pleasant or hateful.

You have a terrific writing style. I can tell that you have done much planning and preparation in creating your work - especially the way you have thought out the characters and movement that happens in the story. This is not an easy feat.
Your prose is very nicely written with details that capture the Reader's attention. Right from the start, your plot was very engaging and I found myself really connected with what was going on.

It is easy to have too much going on too soon - not in your case. Your plot is slow and methodical and you use your dialogue to move the plot throughout your story.

With all that being said, you really do a nice job of slowly making your way through the story with details and a certain voice (yours as with the author) that allows your reader to really interact with the characters (who are all round and very nicely developed).

Your characters are lifelike and I love it when I leave a story feeling as if I know them. You have a realistic plot and to me that makes for an enjoyable story. You have created a quality piece of writing and I look forward to reviewing your next book. Bravo !
