Look at this shiny pendant. Watch it catch the light as it swings. It's so bright. It swings so well. Watch it swing. Repeat after me: "I must read this book! I MUST read this book!" (Hey, I'll try anything!) The good news is -- now you can. If you like weird and bizarre horror, that is! This is a superb anthology of eclectic horror stories and includes "Starbird," by William D. Gagliani, as well as stories by Lucy Snyder, Louis Maistros, Paul Tremblay, and others! An excellent debut by Alphabeta Soup Media and editor Ron Horsley! Some stories have already received recommendations for the Stoker Award (recommendations are a step toward landing on the preliminary ballot, but do not themselves count as nominations). The anthology itself has received some recommendations, so check it out and recommend it if you're an HWA member! It's finally available from B&N!! But you can still use the Buy Books on the Web link to purchase! I can't stress this enough -- it's a gem of an unthemed anthology and deserves to be read ... don't let this book sink without a trace!
BUY IT DIRECT FROM ME: tarkusp.execpc.com. Visit a world rarely seen! In "Starbird," the sport is blood, and the blood is all. But they don't know what blood is until they've met Graken! You don't know the meaning of the term "blood sport" until you've met THIS contender!
It's Damon Runyonesque, it's definitely politically incorrect (but these aren't folks you'd wanna know), it's down and dirty -- but so is the world it portrays. "Starbird" is unlike most horror stories you'll read...not for the squeamish, as they say. But hopefully unique. You be the judge!

Reviews for "The Midnighters Club (edited by Ron Horsley)"
The fortunate inherit riches, prestige, positive notoriety. Those not so lucky bear legacies filled with poverty, infamy or, worse yet, the unhinged insanity and murderous urges of their ancestors.
Grab those side-irons, saddle up and join former Civil War sharpshooter Luther Henry for a ride into pure terror, western-style…think ‘Wild Wild West’ meets ‘The X-Files’.
