Blue Bangles

This book is unlike any other poetry book, which is completely devoted to the true meaning of Feminism. When I say Feminism, please do not misconstrue the term, I do not mean it as a concept of “Man hater” but a flawless society with equal opportunity, socio-economic and cultural-political equality irrespective of the genders. (He, She, Transgender etc..)

The title” Blue Bangle” – this title is based on the concept – we generally associate blue color with Male and bangles are the important ornament for the females, therefore those bangles in her hands  can either be beautiful like an ornament or it can be painful like handcuffs, it can either add to her beauty or destroy her identity. (How the male dominant society affects a woman’s life)

The poems in this book are on various social evils like rape, human trafficking, prostitution, domestic violence, marital rape, infanticide, feticides and importance of women, how the different shades of male dominance affects a woman’s life. The phrases used in these poems are simple, direct and upfront which delivers the exact message without any underlying confusion. Every poem speaks up for itself, it is written in such a way as if it is a narration from the victim herself, and this is what segregates the book from other regular poetry.

It has a simple solution for all these evils and that is call of Humanity, respect and love for all.

“So, let’s stand for one another, stab the ethos of I and Me, strike the chord of harmony through humanity.

Henceforth educate the illiterate, create awareness for unawares, warn the innocents, protect the helpless, stand for weak and show the light through the darkest places where hope never penetrates”
