The lightning flashed and the thunder rolled signaling the approaching storm. Spring was very volatile in Wyoming. I heard Caren approaching from the bedroom and come up behind me. She still hasn’t told me she is carrying my cub. She said “I love you Clyde.” I turned and took her into my arms and said “I love you too honey. Is there something you would like to tell me? I can tell by the look on your face that you’re keeping something from me.” She said “Yeah come sit down and I’ll tell you what I am keeping from you.” We walked to the couch and I sat down and Caren sat down on my lap and snuggled up to my chest. She looked into my eyes and said “I am not sure how you’re going to feel about this but I am going to have a baby.” I smiled and said “How could I not be happy baby when this is what I want for us? I will love our son just the same as you do.” She said “Well Honey it could be a girl you know.”
