Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Today I graduate high school and thanks to my Alpha and his Alpha mate I will be going to college in the fall. I just have to get through today. I am graduating valedictorian of my class and that means a speech. Now that’s where there’s a problem. I have always been pretty shy and to get up on a stage in front of the entire town and make a speech has my stomach doing flips. I did take a speech class and did ok in it but it took its toll on my nerves. My Alpha Clyde Marquis and his mate Caren have been a God send to me. My parents were killed several years ago in a bear hunter attack and Clyde and Caren took me in and raised me as their own. Everything I am and will be is because of them so I have to make them proud. I just have to get through today and it will be fine.
Caren came into my room and said “Hey baby how are you holding up?” Caren noticed I was shaking so she put her arms around me and gave me a big hug. For being only half shifter she sure knew how to give a big comforting bear hug.
