Picking up right where Drako’s Return left off, Victoria and Claude are still at odds. Claude still wants Vic to be his, and Vic still claims her love to Robert. My blood was starting to boil as I was losing all self-control. “You shut the fuck up right now and tell me where Claude went or I’ll rip your throat out.”
He started laughing again. “Even if you do that, it’s too late. Claude is coming back with the antidote after he kills Drako. Even if I get killed, I’ll be raised from the dead within hours. Then everyone will be a slave to our new system. Every single person and vampire that has lived here will be a slave. If they don’t like it, we will simply lock them up down here with the rest to be fed on for all eternity until their deaths.”
“What will happen to all the helpless people and vampires down here?”
“They will all eventually die. We will kill them all, including you and your group. We can’t have any blokes around or traitors that will escape and spill the truth to the public of Dunster. Things are about to change and real fast. We will drink the humans dry to the bone and kill the others by throwing chains to burn them to a crisp.”
My heart jumped into my throat at his words. I turned my head to look at Lucian and read his thoughts as he read mine. He handed the gun to me and quickly left as I stood there with Charles.
