You're going to want two of these books. One to keep, one to give as a gift or maybe loan to a friend. MaryAnn has a gift for intriguing character development, the folks in her books are the folks you want to know and get to know better. MaryAnn Myers is one of my favorite authors, her work never gets old. It's timeless and the type of reading you have to plan for because once you pick up one of her books you don't want to put it down. Ellie's Crows is another one of those books! Buy it! You won't regret it!
The Sensitivity of Animals!
The sensitivity of animals is amazing, not to mention the people THAT SEE/FEEL THIS. The only thing missing is HAVING my own crow to 'light' on my finger if I held it out. Beautiful story.
Re-read again and again!
This is the second time I've read "Ellie's Crows" by MaryAnn Myers. The characters are so fascinating and the story is so full of rich texture and energy, it is worth reading more than once.
Ellie is a young woman, vibrant and full of life. As she cares for her Grandma Betty, whose life gets portrayed as well, I became fascinated with the relationship these two women had developed. No less intriguing is Ellie's relationship with her horse and, of course, the crows. Reading "Ellie's Crows" I learned a lot about horses and most certainly about crows - surprisingly interesting! Watching Ellie care deeply about everyone in her life, including her best friend and her boyfriend, was a compelling reason to keep turning the pages. I know I will re-read this book again - there is still more to discover about Ellie and her world!
