Just before Nick’s mother passed away she told him about his father and the inheritance he was entitled to. Nick travels to Sydney to face an Aunt he has never met and claim the inheritance of his father’s large international import business. Only things don’t seem to be as they should and when his Aunt’s maid is brutally murdered followed by the murder of his father’s business partner, Nick becomes a suspect. He has been thrown into a life surrounded by murder, drug rings and crooked cops and he is concerned he may be next on this murderous rampage.

Inheritance, Australian author Angelo Mifsud’s debut novel, is set in 1960’s Sydney a time when murder, mayhem and tea drinking seem to go hand in hand.
Nick Kenby was an instantly likeable character and I enjoyed his evolution from quiet country boy to a confident man.
There were many facets to this mystery with twists and turns interspersed with murder, mayhem and a touch of romance all delivered with an Australian flavour and a hot cup of tea. Humour was added with the introduction of bumbling gangsters Lofty and Shorty. I enjoyed the friendship that developed between Nick, Rachel and Sergeant Ainsworth.
The story was mainly written in dialogue and short, sharp sentences and at times was a little confusing which broke the flow of the story. However, the mystery kept me enthralled throughout and the twists took me by surprise.

I won this as a giveaway. I absolutely loved it. I loved the plot twists. I loved how he named places around Sydney that I knew and understood. I couldn't put it down.
