I have always wanted to write but with raising five children and work commitments there has not been time until now.
This novel tells Kellie's story. Pregnant and abandoned she takes a housekeeping position with a bitter mistrusting doctor. She didn't admit to being pregnant at her interview and when he finds out, he's livid! His young son is returned to him after his ex-wife runs off with the child. The boy is terribly thin, traumatised and unable to speak. Kellie encounters many challenges on her roller coaster ride as she searched for security and happiness.

Suddenly, a black wave roared through her head and she dropped to the floor unconscious.
'Kellie! Kellie! James knelt above her patting her cheeks as she came to. Kellie, speak to me.' He felt for her pulse as she started to move her head.
'I feel sick.'
He waited a moment then helped her off the floor and into the bathroom where she vomited nosily into the toilet. James didn't say a word. He waited patiently until she had finished then helped her to her bed.
'Lay down and I'll fetch you a glass of water.' He moved Harry and Charlie out of the way, as they both stared wide-eyed at the distraught Kellie.
James returned. 'Sip this slowly.' Gently, he helped her sit up. She was a mess and tears streamed down her cheeks. he reached over and pulled a handful of tissiues from a box next to the bed.
'Here,' he put them in her hand. 'We'll leave you to rest. Call out if you need me.'
She nodded and wiped her eyes. Oh! She felt terrible and so embarrassed.
Later, James knocked on her door and came in. 'Is there anything I can get you?'
'No thanks.'
he wished her goodnight and closed the door. Feeling miserable and so very alone she quietly sobbed into her pillow.
Later she got up, brushed her teeth, and changed into her pyjamas. When she was back in bed, she wondered about James, and what he might be thinking.
Being a doctor, he probably had his suspicions. She was too woozy to think straight so she gave in to the weariness that over whelmed her and fell asleep.
She slept until a noise from the kitchen woke her. She glanced at her bedside clock. '8.00am, oh no!' It was Friday and James should have left for work.
'Oh, dear God, what else can go wrong?'
She showered and dressed then took a deep breath and braced herself to face the music. James was frying mushrooms when she went into the kitchen. The smell almost sent her running back to the toilet.
He looked up. 'You're looking a little better this morning. Your colour has improved.' he hesitated a moment then looked her straight in the eye. 'Are you pregnant?'
She expected the question, but actually hearing it from him caused the fragile grip she had on her emotions to slip. 'Yes.' She searched for a tissue in her trouser pocket as her eyes watered.
His voice changed, it grew harsh. 'I thought you might be. How far along are you?'
'Four months.' Where was that flaming tissue?
'Have you seen a doctor?'
By now, the tears had overflowed and with both hands over her face and no tissue, she miserably shook her head.
James could hardly contain his anger and spoke through clenched teeth. 'I've
made an appointment for you at one-thirty this afternoon with Richard Wilkinson. Harry will stay here with me.' Shaking his head, he pushed the frying pan to one side and stomped off. Kellie heard him mutter, 'Women, you can never trust them.'
