We are going to move. I don’t want to. Nevertheless, I find myself on the way to the new house in the back seat of my grandmother’s stinky cloth-seated 1949 Ford, crying all the way. We had spent the night with her while our parents moved into the new house without us kids being in the way. We are moving because our next-door neighbor’s son Cha hit me in the head with a hammer. Soon after that my parents decided we could no longer live next door to a burgeoning homicidal maniac.
