"Where is Mary May?" thundered Richard before the young constable was able to conclude his sentence. Richard's eyes were wild with fear and dark despair.
"As best we're able to figure, your daughters were at the end of the pier." The constable began his painful explanation, having to take a deep breath in order to finish his most unpleasant announcement. "I'm so regretfully sorry, Lord Seaton.
