Gideon's Road:
When his pounding fist on the solid wooden door brings no response, he leans his head against it in despair. He is reluctant to enter without being asked, but what’s the alternative? He grabs the door knob and twists; it turns, and he almost falls over the threshold. Something hard and heavy hits the back of his head, and the flickering light goes out.
And comes on again. Except this time it doesn’t flicker; a warm yellow glow comes from a small lamp on a dresser in the corner of a low-ceilinged room. He is lying on a lumpy couch, a crocheted blanket tucked up under his chin. He turns his head and groans as pain flares from a tender spot on the back of his skull, and closes his eyes, breathing through it. When he opens them again he sees an elderly woman, her shoulders stooped with arthritis, standing in front of him. She is holding what looks like a hardcover edition of the bible. Did she hit him with it?
‘You’re awake. Good.’ The woman puts the book down on the table behind her. ‘Would you like some tea?’

Future supernatural tales
This is a collection of three very interesting short stories. I loved these tales which take a walk in to the supernatural. I loved the journey, the first short story because of the character interaction and the ending which is a surprise. The 2nd story Gideon's Road is well written and a great read. The 3rd story I think you knew my father is a great read and I also loved the twisted ending. All of the short stories are compelling reads and this author did a great job telling the tales. Definitely an author to watch for. great job.
