If they've already met in their dreams, are they destined to be together?
Brynn McAlister, an Account Executive for a Nashville public relations firm, isn’t sure if she believes in dreams, not even the one that haunts her, but she does believe in honesty. Betrayed by her former lover and boss, she flees to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to decide her future.
Canaan Wind Pierce, the sexy Dr. Bobby on a TV show that was once heartwarming but is now just insipid entertainment, believes in the Great Spirit and Hopi traditions. He also believes in dreams, especially his recurring one. He also believes in honesty. But when he flees to Gatlinburg to decide his future, his fame forces him to assume a fake identity: a hick cowboy named Charlie Wayne Peterson.
When Canaan’s true identity is finally exposed, who is the betrayer, who the betrayed? Can destiny help them overcome mistrust and hostility as they return to the real world? A world where she must promote not only his show, but his upcoming nuptials—to someone else!
Excerpt
Tie-dyed clouds—gold, pink, and purple—swirl above a red-rock mesa. A fair-skinned maiden’s knees cling to the bare sides of a galloping white stallion; her arms encircle the bare waist of the Hopi who holds the reins with warm, strong hands. She buries her head in the bronze ripples of the man’s shoulders as they fly across the desert, his long black hair dancing with her floating blonde strands. His back undulates against her belly in harmony with the equine muscles that churn beneath her thighs. Wind coos at her ears. She gulps the air and savors the exhilarating taste of freedom. Hooves thunder across hard ground, echoing her throbbing heart. She smells horse and buckskin and wild musk. Her lips brush the manly mahogany neck and savor the salty sting of skin. They are one—animal, humans, and wind—as they surge across the desert toward the sun. She is at peace.

“Yoo-hoo, Brynn! Hello?” Karen Jackson waved her hand in front of Brynn’s face. When Brynn didn’t even blink, Karen fluffed her trendy boy-cut, auburn hair in mock exasperation. Her dark-chocolate eyes tease. “Brynn McAlister, you're not even listening!”
Karen was right. Brynn was a million miles away from her office at Dunn & Didd Public Relations.
The flub-flub of the news helicopter bouncing in the wind-whipped snow outside the window sounded like thundering hooves, reminding her of her nighttime vision.
You're thinking about your dream again, aren't you?” Karen clapped her hands to break Brynn’s reverie. Brynn blinked. Turned. Her blush rose to eyes the color of smoky quartz and desert sand. Shaking off her dream images, she grinned at her co-worker and best friend.
“It’s so vivid. Do you think it’s precognitive?”
