The Darkest Light by Vicki-Ann Bush is a young adult paranormal novel that is more than just a romance. The story begins in Boulder City, where the protagonist, Luke Jacob, lived a perfect life. He was the star quarterback for his high school football team. Things were going well until everything suddenly changed when Luke found Mary in the crowd one night. However, when Luke’s father told him to stay away from Mary, he was surprised. Things took a terrifying turn when Luke invited Mary to celebrate a match win. A demon named Azbezethibou appeared, and Mary’s true identity was revealed. Luke’s future was about to change. Instead of being an athlete, Luke was something more. All he needed was for Mary to stand beside him as he faced his biggest challenge. But could she?

Full of suspense, The Darkest Light was the perfect story to read over the weekend. I loved Luke and his bright personality. He was the life of the story, and his growth was phenomenal. Author Vicki-Ann Bush’s narrative style is great. The way she detailed Luke’s emotions was incredible. I experienced every emotion he went through and could feel his confusion, anger, rage, fear, and exhilaration. The narrative style was descriptive without being too long. The plot was gripping, the chapters were decent-sized, and the character development was fantastic. Mary wasn’t very easy to relate to at first. I wasn’t sure if I liked or trusted her, to be honest. However, as the story progressed, I started to understand her more. I found the story fascinating and think fans of the drama serial Supernatural will like it too. I cannot wait for the next novel in the series. I highly recommend this one!

Great Read
I've never read a book quite like this. The descriptions in this book are astounding. I felt like I was right there along with the characters, experiencing the action. Very intriguing subject and looking forward to the author's next book.
