The mass thickened, and the path to the bar was blocked. Micah inched closer, but one of the hotel staff grabbed her arm and motioned her to step back. I heard a stranger’s voice say they had called security, but I couldn’t see them. Security in a casino is usually visible. Why they were taking so long was beyond me. I pushed through so I could get a better look. The woman was covered in blood and stared directly into my eyes. My heart skipped a beat and then another before pounding against my chest. “Get out! You have to get out! Now! The both of you!” She pointed to me and Micah. I wanted to ask her what she meant, but the only thing I could muster up sounded more like a squeak than any real words. The stranger’s eyes widened with each syllable that passed through her cracked lips. Beads of sweat trickled from her forehead, dropping like rain to the marble tile beneath her bare feet.

Great Sci-Fi Read
Five Stars!
This is a great book for fans of sci-fi. Written in first person, the main character is super snarky, and I was so here for it. I also enjoyed the dynamic between all of the characters as they try to piece through what's going on in the small desert town near Las Vegas. There was humor and great banter. The storyline will keep you guessing until the last page.

Fast paced and thought provoking!
Five Stars! Wowza! This story would make an amazing Twilight Zone episode. It's a fast paced, action packed, sci-fi read. From the second I picked it up, this story was hard to put down. It keeps you guessing which is something I absolutely love in a book. Though provoking for sure.
