A young adult tale for grown ups
I enjoyed this quite a bit. We have a young 17 year old living literally in another world, but has to escape to our world to save her life. Afterwards, she finds herself faced with a whole new reality, sexy young men and a growing curiosity despite her innocence.
Layla is forced to realize who she really is, while dealing with teenage problems and a very adult relationship with her love.
The author does an excellent job with the teenage voice, while maintaining a connection to the adult reader. Characters are well developed and relatable. I look forward to the next installment.
I like the tone of the story
The novel is very different. Individuals born with the ability to do magic. I thought that was very creative. I also like the tone of the story, how you kept it all the way through, though it was on an adult level.
