Chapter 1
Viola was standing in her sister Veronica’s living room ranting on about playing a game of “Truth or Dare.” Luciano and her sisters, Veronica, Victoria and Vernesha were teasing her about how she was the last one who really wanted to play that game because she did not like to hear any part of the truth at any time, especially when it came to anything about her. The whole crew, the Vassar sisters and all of their mates were at Veronica’s, Viola’s oldest sister’s house for a couple’s family game night. Everyone was coupled up except her and Luciano. Luciano Graham was Viola’s best friend and they had been since they were 7 years old. Viola did not know that Luciano even existed, at least not in that way. In fact, she had no clue of what his true feelings were for her. Viola stood there looking so lovely, Luciano thought. He loved spending time with her and also with her family. They always had a good time when they were all together. He watched her flailing her arms and hands all about, because she talked with the limbs at the top half of her body, as she tried to argue her point that she is not that bad when it comes to hearing the truth. He watched her every move. Her plump lips, that he has imagined kissing, wanting to know if they were as soft as they appeared to be. Her tiny waist that he has always wanted to hold within his hands in a way other than giving her a friendly hug. Her firm bottom that he wanted to hold on to, while holding her within his arms. Her legs that he has imagined wrapped around his waist, whilst he made sweet passionate love to her. Viola has so much passion and was such a strong minded individual. She was an entrepreneur, from a definitive family of entrepreneurs, who was moving up the ladder rapidly attaining her career goals with grace. She was one of the top and most sought out hairstylists in the city of Detroit. Her clientele at the current establishment, where she leases space, was so enormous that she decided to make the ultimate move to branch off to open up her own beauty salon, which she was having built onto the back of her home in the Rosedale Park area of Detroit. She was beautiful, smart, talented, funny and kind hearted, but with a fire that if lit the wrong way, would burn you deep into your soul. She had a foul mouth, a bad attitude at times but at the same time, she was a room full fun all by herself. He wanted so much more from the relationship that he had with his best friend. But that is all that she was. She was his best friend and for now, that is what it needed to be because he did not ever want to take the chance of losing her out of his life.
