Loved the Book
Great book!!! Very interesting from start to end. It was hard to put down the book. It was the first book I read by Saurabh Dashora, he has wonderful imagination and great way of depicting story. There was something new and exciting throughout the book. It is full of surprises. It has everything - strength, fear, trust, deception, love, romance, horror, kindness, pride, happiness, sorrow, and hope. Loved all the characters. The end was specially very nice and surprising. I hope author writes sequel of this book. I was sad when the book got over as I was not ready to come out of world of Titan :) I highly recommend this book to everyone!
Well written adventure in space
I was very impressed with Saurabh Dashora’s writing style, and was enthralled with Starship Samudram from the very beginning with its clear and comprehensive explanation of the Captain Moody and his starship.
This novel starts with the crew of the starship Sanudram beginning to wake up from their hyper-sleep only to find they are behind schedule to Saturn. Everything appears normal, but this miscalculation could have killed them. With fellow starship Goldilocks lying silent and possible rebellion lurking on the ship, Captain Moody has his work set out settling this crew on Saturn.
What if Captain Kirk were a jerk?
Starship Samurdram is an interesting read. The crew is sent to use a terraform engine to colonize Saturn’s moon, Titan, but this isn’t a crew that gets along. In fact, there’s a lot of backstabbing going on. The book contains the horror aspects of Alien, with people getting infected and dying, but only a few crew members seem interested in saving lives. Commander Moody would rather hunt down Separatists, who want the all-important terraform engine.
The heroes are hard to find, but they’re there. It reads like a horror story, and you’ll be constantly wishing the characters would realize the monster is real and they should take it seriously. I kept reading to find out how in the world it was going to end, and wasn't disappointed.
