An engineer claims the pacemaker was defective, but he’s killed in a fiery crash. A cardiologist agrees to testify for the boy but she gets indicted for fraud. The judge, an avowed enemy of Evans, throws out all their key evidence.
On the eve of trial, Skylar is blinded by an attack and almost dies. Evans tries to delay the case but is thrown in jail.
When all seems lost, their private investigator uncovers a dark secret of unspeakable evil, one that will blow the lid off the case.
Proving that secret is the only way they can win. But first, they have to stay alive......

Cagle cleverly knits a medical thriller together with a friendship between two college football pals and lawyers that is so timely it could be taken from the front page of the sports section. Careers and their very lives are on the line in a story skillfully written to keep the reader glued to the page wondering what could be next. I loved this book. I couldn't put it down, and neither will you.

I enjoyed "Class of Two" so much that I skipped the 4th of July Fireworks because I could not put it down! The courtroom proceedings, the hospital scenes, the political intrigue -- all were authentic! I loved seeing the character tie-in to "Unexpected Enemy" -- very clever. This book is engaging, thought-provoking, full of unexpected twists and turns. I did not want this book to end. I hope Tim Cagle writes another!!!!!!!!

I finished this book in one sitting and it is a definite winner.
This story begins with Jake Skylar giving a eulogy for his friend and law partner Ace Evans. He began with the story about how they became involved with a medical malpractice case which Ace had initiated while his fortunes had turned. This related to the incident where a pacemaker had failed and Darrell, the patient, had become incapacitated. The case had very little to go on to support and the opposing lowers were quite high price and would do whatever it took to win. Ace convinced Jake to become involved. Jake was a well known lawyer who won a lot of high profile casws, but he too was also in a funk since his wife died.
Jake after reviewing the evidence that Ace had enlisted help from Chelsea, his investigator, to look into the defendant and other items. While she was working on the case, the other side was raising all sorts of roadblocks even as much as having the case moved on docket up by 4 weeks, which gave Jake's side very little time to get his act together.
The action around the trial and the steps that Jake and his team had to take to rise above the obstacles they faced will keep your attention. The conclusion will ultimately give you all of the answers of what happened. In the end, you will want more to discover how Jake and Ace changed their field of practice and how they survived. I know I want it.
Don't missthis opportunity to read this book. You won't be disappointed.
