WHAT IS A CLOSED DOOR? We might not have a definite meaning of what it is. It is better explained or clearer when experienced, than in words. To get a clearer meaning let’s look at what an open door is like.
OPEN DOOR / DOORS . According to vines expository Dictionary, the Hebrew noun petah , for doorway means opening, entrance, gate to building, tent, city, tower (fortress). The verb, (Patah ) to this word, (petah) means, inter alia, to open, to cause to flow, to offer for sale, to conquer, to surrender, to draw a sword (i.e. to be battle ready, vigilant), to solve a riddle ( i.e. solve a mystery, difficulty ) and to free.
The Greek (Thura ) is used metaphorically of Chris t (John 10: 7) - as the very door of the sheep. - Of faith to the gentiles (Acts 14: 27) - Of “opening” for disseminating the gospel (1 Cor 16: 9, 2 Cor 2:12; col 4: 3, Rev 3: 8). - Of entrance into the kingdom of God ( Lk 13: 24-25). - Of access to behold visions for God’s purpose (Rev. 4: 1).
If all we have said above refers to open doors, it then follows that closed doors are just the opposite – closed entrance to, discontinued flow, facing defeats, no normal transaction or paralyzed business, no freedom of operations or access to the desired or the expected or the cherished or your aspirations. One is hindered from attaining his goals, successes, promotions, upliftment, enthronements and all the good things of life. Closed doors can apply to the faith, to entrance into the kingdom, to access of revelation and mind of God for one’s life and future. It is like an
obstacle keeping you from your destiny and destination, goals or needs. Many individuals, families, marriages, businesses, homes, ministries, and Churches are experiencing, labouring under, toiling, ignorantly or knowingly in front of closed doors. An allegory here is the story in Gen 19:10-11, where the angel pulled Lot into the house and shut the door, with the men outside struck blind and weary trying to locate unsuccessfully, the door. A closed door is a closed door. Period.
Closed door can also be opened when we know the cause of the closed door and do what we are supposed to do about what we know. The consequences, the negative effects, regrets, sighs, worries, sleepless nights and all shortfalls related to your situation will go. Don’t drop this book until you’ve identified your closed doors, the causes, the consequences and the solutions. Staying outside is dangerous. Open doors are real also and sweet. It is better experienced too. It is time to enter into your rest and fulfillment. It is time for your manifestation. The lives of many are hinged on it. Don’t deny them a good bite from God’s promises.
CASE 1 : I was singing and praying in the woods, when this haggard looking and dejected man approached me for financial help. By his looks, you will never believe that this man even saw the four walls of a Primary school, not to talk of a University. The way he was excited about the little money I gave him showed someone in abject poverty. He is a graduate and was a manager with a construction company. He had a car and a family but all of a sudden everything went down. All the whole doors closed that he could not afford a meal for himself, not to talk of the family. The wife ran away because each time the woman entered his room, she will be seeing strange armed men pursuing her. All these started when he came home one day and gave a lady some money. This lady disappeared mysteriously. One of his daughters had snake walk out of her as we were praying. The four or five children were almost fending for themselves. He couldn’t pay house rent. The children were out of school. He couldn’t get a job. Every odd was against him.
SOURCES OF CLOSED DOORS Closed doors can come from (a) God as a result of man’s failure. (b) Man as a result of Man’s Pride or weakness. (c) Satan as spiritual opposition, as a result of man’s position in God.
Closed doors delay establishment, fulfillment, self-actualization and enthronement. When the doors open, one gets established, settles in life, pursues his goal and attains fulfillment over time.
“Closed”, is same Hebrew word (SAGAR) for “to shut up or out”. It means to imprison or like a door to be close-sealed against someone. Someone said that closed doors are like iron curtains separating us from our fervent aspirations. An expectation not satisfied. Champions are chaps that championed war processes to peace, hopeless situations to hope, or fearful scenario to fear-free conditions. Deborah was a champion.
Closed door deprives, imprisons, debars, intimidates, impoverishes or cripples their victims. They bar them from their aspirations. Praise is like showers. When we go from our little prisons of life to praising God (Praise is then a sacrifice), we will then become Prime Ministers of life‘s situations. Joseph exemplified this.
CHAPTER TWO OPEN HEAVEN
WHEN THE HEAVENS OPEN OVER A PEOPLE, THE PEOPLE’S DOOR OPEN. WHEN THE HEAVENS OPEN OVER AN INDIVIDUAL, AN INDIVIDUAL’S DOOR OPENS. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MAN TO PROVOKE THE FLOW AND OVER-FLOW OF THE ANOINTING. I CAN HEAR THE SOUND OF ABUNDANCE OF RAIN.
WHAT IS OPEN HEAVENS? How do you know when one is experiencing open heavens ? To really get a clearer view of what open heavens mean we must look at what happens when there is a closed heaven over an individual, ministry, home or business
