Bob Boze describes his "The Beach Pool" as "A feel good story about life, love and family." He delivers without forced sentimentality a tale of young love and all its attachments of melodrama, humor, and melancholy in a collection of characters diverse and compelling. More, the book offers unvarnished diversion, amusement, and sentiment at a time when a simple "hello" may be retorted "what do you mean by that?"

Along the way, the novel offers nice touches of writing as in "Zoey and Zach tried to cram the next year into the five days they had left together....Sunday morning, Zoey had all she could do to keep from falling apart. All the way to JFK Airport she clung to Zach like someone would steal him if she let him go."

If you want a breezy and spirited page-turner that lives up to its billing of "Life comes full circle," check out Bob Boze's "The Beach Pool."

This is a "double" love story; a love story of romances and the bond of a loving, committed (to each other) family. Both are explored in great detail. And, some may say that in-part the book is "sappy," but some families actually do have a loving, close-knit unit. Perhaps the world would be a better place if more families had such a wonderful bond as the Simmons' family.
"The Beach Pool," where our story begins, is a well-written novel with many twists and turns. Take a household and fill it with teenagers and you can expect just about anything to happen. That describes this story-line to a tee. You have love, death, dating, drama, high school and college, romance, war and much more. "The Beach Pool" is a "busy book" with each chapter bringing a new adventure. The novel quickly becomes a page-turner; I couldn't put it down, read it straight through as I followed the lives of all the different and intriguing characters. The brother and sisters had such a devoted and unique bond together. It was heart warming.
Some of the story-lines are a little hard to believe, like inviting a perfect stranger to live in your home, but it does happen and, hey, this is fiction so the writer can take liberties. Besides, it made for a wonderful starting plot for the book. Most definitely catches your attention, I read it in one sitting.
If you like a true love story, "The Beach Pool" is you kind of book. If you like a drama with a lot of humor mixed in than I wholeheartedly recommend you check this one out. I truly enjoyed the writing style of Bob Boze and look forward to reading some of his additional works. A big thumbs-up!

Josh and Christine were devoted to each other and to their children Zach and Desi. Even though Christine's sudden death left a huge void, Josh raised his children and kept Christine's legacy alive. Through a chance encounter another child, Zoey, became part of the family. In The Beach Pool, a novel by Bob Boze, readers follow Zach's, Desi's and Zoey's lives over a period of ten years.

There is a large cast of well developed and endearing characters. Zach, Desi and Zoey are intriguing. As their lives change they meet new people and they are not afraid to embrace new relationships. Meaningful bonds develop. As a result, their friends become family. They understand loyalty and they are supportive on all fronts. I quickly became immersed in the narrative and the characters became very real to me. Bob Boze is a gifted author who has crafted a heartwarming and memorable story. I sincerely hope there is a sequel. Highly recommended.
