Nathan Evans plans to harvest his grain and make enough money to marry Charlotte Matthews, a lovely young barmaid. His friends Bud Webber and Tobias Turner encourage him, hoping to make enough to marry other lovely young women. But a wildfire destroys Nathan's crop and the local economy, leaving all three men flat broke. Charlotte tries to console them, saying that with a little luck, everyone will be fine. But the men are inconsolable. Then Thomas Grady, a cigar-smoking stranger, offers them the chance to become outlaws. Charlotte tells them that your typical outlaw gets killed, and she begs them to work, not steal. Nathan knows she's right, but when he fantasizes about a rich young handsome man who seduces her, he persuades Bud and Tobias to accept Grady's offer.
The three friends quickly discover that being outlaws is not so easy as they thought. They try to rob a bank and a train, and they fail dismally. When they finally succeed in robbing a salesman on a stagecoach, they begin to celebrate, but then they realize that Charlotte was right. They return the money and decide to give up their life of crime. However, Grady has other plans.
YOUR TYPICAL OUTLAW is a comedy set in Texas in 1885. It follows the hilarious escapades of three young men who are definitely not your typical outlaw.
