Grognaw were far more docile. Ja’Leck turned to the assembly and raised his fists into the air. “I lead,” thundered the enormous creature. In response, the assembled army of our enemy raised
their right fists in salute and sent forth a guttural howl.
Kensai leaned over and whispered, “Did you just make that happen?”
I shook my head. “Not me so much. I merely sent out a little push to all of them. Once I realized they were
intelligent, it made sense to assume they had some understanding of Halal’s influence over them.”
“So, you were able to change all of their minds?” Asked Kensai.
I half-smiled. “I didn’t need to change all of their minds. I just needed to change one. Considering what their lives have been like, they are used to subjugation. They will follow a leader. I just needed one of them to stand up and take charge.” Kensai shrugged her shoulders. “How did you even know they were intelligent? Because they can talk?”
I looked down at her and was quiet for a moment, thinking of the right way to phrase it. “Speech is not a sign of intelligence. Many can speak and show no sign of intelligence whatsoever.”

A book that invokes some “What if?” thoughts
Science fiction and fantasy are way out of my normal genre of books. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this one. The world Sean Paquet created is a fun break from reality here in our world. I liked the journey on which his characters embarked. I especially liked the bond his cast formed as they travelled and opposed the other side of the balance. What I found most interesting was the way the author opened my mind to a different perspective of our being. I honestly don’t normally believe in any possibility of this realm but it really made me think “What if? Thoroughly enjoyable read and I would recommend this book to anyone, even those who aren’t into this genre.
An exciting and engrossing story of
I have been an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy since childhood and I loved the premise, story, characters and use of science and mythology in this story! Mr. Paquet has indeed created a world of second chances for his characters and readers! I can't wait to see if he continues the story!
Want to escape reality, you must read this book, you won’t be able to put it down.
As a young teenager in 1960 I was enthralled by Edger Rice Burrows series about Pelucidor, a different world. This book totally takes you to the world of Threa, you are transported. When I read a book and feel I am in this world it makes reality disappear for a short while. This book was written by my son and I was totally caught off guard at his master of words and imagery. I always knew he had an incredible imagination from the time he was five on. It was still a surprise to see his world on paper. I was honored to help him with the editing process and confess I have read this book three time and could read it a fourth, give yourself a treat and join all the other people who are visiting Sean’s world of Threa. You will love the setting, the characters and the adventures. Sean is at present writing the second book in this series, it sounds just as fascinating.
